The website was created for extra credit and personal interest for the Mu 138: History II - Music History from 1750 to 1850 class at California Institute of Technology. The requirements was to select some area of interest, such as a composer, and create a website dedicated to this topic. Of the relevant composers to the class, I chose Antonio Salieri because as I was thinking of composers to choose from, I remember the movie Amadeus and remember how they depicted him in a bad light. In the movie, Mozart made fun of Salieri's compositions, and I was curious as to what they actually were. I also wanted to find out more about Salieri and whether or not his rivalry with Mozart was as intense as it was depicted in the movie, and analyze some of them to see their musical qualities and whether or not they actually were "inferior" to Mozart's compositions.
